Place you estimates here of what: two rear springs, two rear shocks, and one rear wheel bearing, will cost including labor and tax.

1200.00. I had a scratch on my bumper that I wanted to get cleaned up. That cost me 500. I'll go more than double with my guess.

I think I can get that for free from tire discounters, it's where I got my tires from. I shouldn't need one though... I hope...

A friend of mine needed all that stuff and a little more on his E46. You don't have a BMW right?

I don't know what kind of car this is , but assuming average pricing, I'll bet $650 for parts and 5 hours of labor at $80 an hour. $1100 bucks give or take.
What do we win?

One million dollars!! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

What brands are you doing for the parts? If I use higher end prices for the estimate, and assume that the shop wont take three times the amount of time required to do the job, I would guess somewhere a little north of 1,000.
I will say though, I did the rear shocks on my E36 a few weeks ago (for the first time) with possibly the worst assortment of tools imaginable, without heat, at night, in 30 degree weather, with a cold. The job took me an hour at most. If I remember correctly though, you are in Ohio, and I have heard the weather has been pretty awful there as of late.

My tears. And maybe a shooped car, if my asshole doesn't bleed too much

The weather is the main reason for me going to a shop. I will say no more!

Labor at least $120/hr for a BMW, I'd say $400 for that, $500 for the parts, so plan on spending $1000
![]() 01/14/2014 at 22:17 |

I'm guessing the following:
Springs: $100 ea, total $200
3hrs
Shocks: $170 ea, total $340
Wheel Bearing: $200
1.5 Hrs
Parts Total: $740
4.5 Hours Labour at 90/hr: $405
Total: $1,145.00

I completely understand, hopefully they show some mercy and are gentle when they bend you over.
I had some noises coming from my rear passenger side tonight so I spent the last half hour crawling around under the car double checking every nut and bolt I did when I replaced the shocks. I love this car, but it can be a pain now and then.
Where in Ohio are you located? I was there for the past four years.

I'll give you the right answer. It'll cost you the price of parts, plus don't forget to add labor, depending on the number of hours it will take them to do it. Oh, and don't forget the taxes, never forget those.
I hope I'm correct.
Let me know, anyway.

Same exact work (minus the wheel bearing) was about 500 bucks on my 2002 Taurus.

Did you ever get an estimate back?
![]() 01/18/2014 at 12:16 |

Yes, they wanted 1700. So I only had the wheel bearing done for 638. I needed it done so I bit the bullet, I'm doing the rest by my self.
![]() 01/18/2014 at 18:02 |

Dang. That is a ludicrous amount for a wheel bearing.
Last time I did a wheel bearing I did everything but press it in (no press yet) and charged me 50 bucks just to press the new bearing in the hub, which was almost the cost of the bearing.
